Just a few hoopskirts...

This was my first of the small series I created of 18th century clothing with a twist. I’ve always loved clothing like this, as you can see by the many posts I do with designs or ideas like this, however, this one feels just a bit different. I don’t know if it’s the way that I drew it this time that makes me like it or the fact that this looks like a completely different style compared to how I’m usually drawing.

Now that I had all these ideas stuck in my head after drawing the first one I then decided to make a whole series of these sweet little ladies that I had in my head. I really can’t call it a series considering there are only three, but I’ve never done pieces that all relate in some way like this and are all produced from the same idea. Usually what happens when I get this crazy idea to do another one like it, the next one turns out crappy…

Last but not least is the last one. Although I want to make another one, I feel like it won’t turn out the way I want because these have been produced because of inspiration not just because I felt like doing another one.
I think in all the whole inspiration behind these was my love for drawing these type of clothing and then giving it a somewhat modern twist with the legs showing. Also I had the legs showing because you have to wonder, why can a women have all her ‘breast’ hanging out of her blouse but dare she show some ankles!

I guess I just wanted to make it the more scandalous!
